The Laws of Success for Network & Affiliate Marketers

We all know the definition of insanity…  doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

So, what is it that you’re going to do differently in 2022 to get different results?

Success isn’t random. 

Success isn’t based on luck.

Success isn’t based on “hopeium”… crossing your fingers and hoping things will change.

Success is based on Laws.

#1 The Law of Clarity 

Before you do anything else, you need to define your dream. 

Do you know what you want to create in your business and your life?  Do you have your dreams written down?  Are you keeping a running list of experiences you’d like to have, places you want to travel to, things you’d like to have?

Clarity is never just about money.  None of us want money.  We want what money will give us.

Do you know exactly what your purpose is here on this planet?  What exactly were you put here to do?

Do you have a written mission statement that you know like the back of your hand?  Who are you serving and how, to help them get what results?

Do you have clarity on your passion and your values?

Successful people have a clearly defined dream and know their mission, passion, and purpose.

#2 The Law of the Map 

The time to have the map is before you go into the woods.

I see so many people spinning their wheels and not achieving their dreams because they don’t have any clear sense of direction.

Successful people live their lives very intentionally. 

They know what they’re working on for the day, the week, the month, and longer.

They see the target and they’re moving towards it.  They make every step they take head in the direction of their target.

They have a map, a plan, and a sense of direction.

Will there be detours?  Obstacles?  Yes.  And they learn how to navigate the bumps in the road to get back on track.

#3 The Law of the Mind 

Successful people are constantly growing, learning, expanding and working on their mindset, their energy.

The most successful people have a personal development growth plan.

They’re reading books, watching videos, listening to podcasts, and taking courses and programs.

And they’re constantly working with a mentor or mentors because they understand that those six inches between the ears are the most powerful six inches anywhere. 

Your mind will take you down or lift you up.

#4 The Law of the System

Do you have a system that works for you?

There’s no one size fits all system.  What’s important is that you have a system, a schedule or a daily action plan that works for you.

You need to find something that works with your personality style and your learning style.

It should be something that you perceive to be simple, easy, and helpful to keep you on track and moving forward.

Helping your team members find a system that works for them will dramatically increase your success.  And understanding that there really isn’t just one “right” way to do things will go a very long way to supporting your team members.

We talk about “duplication” and getting team members to “duplicate the system”.  But it’s so important to understand that the system that works for you because of your personality style, might not work for someone else.

Help them find a system that works for them.

#5 The Law of the Chain

Don’t break the chain!

I’m a huge fan of what I consider to be the most powerful book I’ve ever read for Network Marketers…

The Consistency Chain for Network Marketing by my good friends and colleagues, George Campbell and Jim Packard.If you haven’t read it, it’s a must.

Consistency in your business is a fundamental success principle.

The idea of The Consistency Chain is that you’re building a chain, one day at a time, one link at a time. 

As you’re taking consistent daily action in your business you create success.

Accountability is a huge part of consistency.  Do you have an accountability partner?

#6 The Law of the Network 

Prospecting, prospecting, prospecting.

To be successful as a Network or Affiliate Marketer you need to be growing and expanding your network daily.

What are you doing to add new prospects to your email list, your contact list, every day?

There are endless ways to do this.  Find what works for you.

#7 The Law of Connection 

Great!  So now you’re adding prospects to your list every day.

But that’s not going to do you any good unless you’re connecting with those prospects and building a relationship.

Years ago, when I ran a matchmaking business, I used to always tell people when they were out on a date, forget about being interesting.  Be genuinely interested.

It’s the same thing with your prospects.  Be genuinely interested in them.  Ask them questions.  Find out about their dreams and their pains.

Build the Know/Like/Trust Factor with your prospects.

We all know that people join people, not companies.  And people join people they know, like and trust.

#8 The Law of Increase

Provide value to your prospects. 

With everything you do ask yourself “How can I be a person of increase?”

If you’re doing a social media post, if you’re on a call with a prospect, if you’re sending an email, a message or doing a training how can you leave your prospect with more than they had before this connection?

How can you give a helpful tip, increase their self-esteem, provide encouragement, or lift them up?

I have absolutely found the more you give the more you receive.

#9 The Law of the Question

You’ve got all these prospects, but now the trick is to turn them into customers and team members.

But how?


When you ask a question, the brain engages.  Questions force the brain to search for answers.  It’s just the way humans work.

The bottom line is that you have to ask for the sale.

“YIKES!!!  I can’t do that!”

If you feel like selling is pushy, slimy and totally out of your comfort zone, it’s just because you haven’t learned how to ask questions.

When you learn how to ask the right questions, people sell themselves and tell you exactly what it is they want/need to buy.

Successful closers are great question askers.

#10 The Super-Charger Law – The Law of the Engine

To be fair not all successful people use this law.  However, it’s responsible for the very rapid growth in my business in all areas.

It’s what’s enabled me to build a team of over 43,000 people in just three months and a multiple 7 figure business in under 3 years.

I would never have been able to do this without using automation.

Automating and using funnels has allowed me to build an email list which is still the most powerful way to communicate one-to-many.

This has been the engine that has super-charged my business.

We can’t control any social media platform.  And we certainly don’t “own” followers and connections on any platform.

However, you do own your email list.  It’s the most valuable thing you have as a network or affiliate marketer.

#11 The Law of Leadership

Human beings crave leadership.  We’re looking for people to follow.  We’re looking for someone who we feel we connect with and who has an ability to help us get to our dreams.

Successful people work on becoming the person people want to follow.

Then they empower those people to become leaders.
