What is Quora?

Quora is a question and answer site that was founded in 2009 by two former Facebook employees, Adam D’Angelo and Charlie Cheever.

Today Quora gets approximately 100 million monthly visitors. Anyone can ask a question and people answer.

What Makes Quora Different?

  1. It’s a site that is totally value driven. The entire purpose of the site is to give and receive information.
  2. People are searching for your information on Quora looking for what you have to offer.
  3. The content you post on the site is evergreen – it’s there forever.
  4. Your content on Quora has the capacity to be found by search engines.

QUORA HACK: How to Create a Killer Profile That Gets Followers & Brings In Leads

  • Add a profile photo
  • Add Credentials & Highlights
  • In your bio area be sure to tell your prospects what’s in it for them. Why they should follow you. What they’ll learn from you.
  • Include an image and a link to a free guide, recipe book, tips, tools. You’ll be building your email list and getting qualified leads from this.
  • Tell your prospects where they can follow you or join you on social media and include links to your LinkedIn profile, your Facebook profile, page, or a group, your YouTube Channel, your Pinterest account or a specific board, your Instagram profile, your blog, and your podcast.

When you’re creating your account follow 20 or more topics and 5 or more spaces that are relevant to you and your target audience.

You can see in the example below that I typed MLM into the search bar and a variety of Topics and Spaces came up.

I click on the Topic: MLM Business and then click on the blue follow button.

QUORA HACK: Create Your Own Spaces To Position Yourself As A Trusted Authority And Share Your Message

A Space on Quora is like a cross between a blog and a group on Facebook or LinkedIn.

A Space is a fantastic place for you to showcase your knowledge, experience, recommendations, even your journey in entrepreneurship.

You can control who can contribute content in the space, who can ask questions and who can comment.

Before you create a Space think about how much great information you have to share on that topic and how many questions there are on the platform already on that topic. 

If a lot of people are asking and answering lots of questions on the topic it means your product, service or opportunity is in high demand which is great news!

***Be sure to follow at least 5 or more Spaces on subjects that are relevant to you and who you want to target on Quora.

Check out these spaces regularly to see what kind of questions are being asked and what you can answer.

QUORA HACK: How to Get Prospects, Customers & Team Members From Quora

Go to Quora and find every question that has anything to do with your area of expertise…

And ANSWER THEM!

If you’re in a health and wellness company that has a great anti-inflammatory product, type the word “inflammation” in the search bar and you’ll see pages of questions.

See in the image below some of the questions that have been asked.

What can be done to reduce inflammation in the body?

What can be done to reduce inflammation in the body?

What is inflammation?

What are the major inflammatory foods?

What are some foods that help reduce or prevent inflammation?

You want to answer as many of these questions as you possibly can.

This helps you build authority and popularity.

Ideally what you want to do is answer questions with an excerpt from an article or blog post you’ve written and link back to your article or blog where they can get more info.

OR… even better, copy your entire article into Quora for the answer to a question, as long as the article is relevant.

I found I can take one of my articles from LinkedIn and highlight the entire article, images, links and all, and it will copy perfectly into Quora.

QUORA HACK: Ask Questions To Connect With Your Target Audience

Ask questions that your target audience is asking.

Simply type a complete question with a question mark at the end into the search bar in Quora and click on Add New Question. Or click on the red Add Question button on the top menu bar.

A pop-up box will open up where you can ask your question. You can also add a link to an article or blog post to your question to give your audience context for your question.

I asked this question with a link to an article on LinkedIn to drive traffic to my article and get engagement.

“What’s your opinion of building your network marketing business belly-to-belly vs. online?”

When you’re finished typing your question click the blue “Add Question” button.

You’ll then be taken to a new pop-up box where you’ll be asked to add or edit Topics.

I typed “network marketing” into the search box and a variety of topics relating to network marketing appear. You want to click all that apply. Then hit the blue DONE button.

You’ll end up with a list of topics that looks like this. And click the blue DONE button again to submit your question.

QUORA HACK: Use Messaging To Build A Relationship With Individual Prospects

If you find someone who seems to be asking a lot of questions or answering a lot of questions who you feel is a great prospect you can send them a direct message and offer a free guide or gift with the purpose of building your email and/or text messaging list.

Where Do You Get Content For Quora?

You might be thinking…

  • “I don’t have any ideas for content”
  • “I don’t have time to write articles or blog posts”
  • “I’m no good at writing”
  • “I’m not an expert and I don’t have enough experience or knowledge to answer questions and give advice”

I get it!

I’m not an expert and I don’t have a lot of knowledge on most things.

AND… you can find the answers to just about anything on my two favorite places… Google and YouTube.

I usually research three to five posts or videos from different people and find great information for whatever I need.

AND… if that feels completely and totally overwhelming…

I’ve got you covered with virtually endless content you can copy and paste that will make you look like a pro…
