Consequences…How Are Your Decisions Impacting Your Network Marketing Business

"This is an adult game. If you want to play, you need to act like an adult. If you want to whine and cry, you don't get to play. It's your choice."

I can hear those words of my mother ringing in my ears like it was yesterday.

To the best of my recollection, we were playing cards.

My parents, my brother, and I.

I was probably 8 or 9.

Obviously, I wasn't very happy because I was losing.

I'm guessing my brother, who's two years older than me, might have been rubbing it in.

(Like only big brothers can do.)

I didn't like these words one bit! LOL!!

But it's shocking to me looking back, how foundational those words have been to my life.

My parents very clearly taught my brother and I that for every decision or action...

There's a consequence...

Any you always get to choose.

I was reminded of this yesterday when I was having brunch with a friend and her daughter.

My friend's daughter is getting married and they're in the midst of wedding planning.

And...

There are consequences.

If she spends money on the shower...

There's less for the wedding.

And vice versa.

And I got me thinking...

What about the consequences in your business?

You know...

The consequences of not taking consistent action.

The consequences of not having a system that really works for you.

There's no one "right" way to build your network marketing or affiliate marketing business.

The only right way is the one that resonates with you and works for you.

And the way that works for your upline, or some top earner in your company, might not be the same as what works for you.

I found that out the hard way.

And there were definitely consequences for me trying to be someone I wasn't.

I struggled so much more than I needed to.

It took me a while to figure out that I didn't have to do what everyone else was doing.

I could actually try something different.

And the consequences of THAT decision have been fantastic.

You see, Facebook just wasn't my thing.

And LinkedIn just seemed to make more sense to me.

So I started playing around with it.

And before you know it...

I'd come up with a system that was really working.

I mean producing really pretty impressive results.
